Hospices and Palliative Care Centers
Hospices and palliative care centers are places where people in terminal stages of many life-threatening diseases go when all hope of survival is gone. Families of such patients too are going through the intense emotional experience knowing that a near and dear one is departing soon. Drumjams can also be deep, meditative, solemn experiences that direct the groups’ consciousness towards emotional soothing and healing.
Typically, these sessions are work for a duration of 30 minutes to 1 hour. The participants can include the patients as well as their families and caregivers at the center.
For the duration of the session, the foundation provides:
- Drums and percussion instruments for the duration of the session.
- Trained facilitators
The organisation provides
- Adequate open space
- Armless chairs for the participants and other comfortable seating options in case of patients
- Caregivers familiar to the patients
- In-house facilitators / practitioners with experience in dealing with the specific challenges faced by the patients.
