SANJAY KALRA
Sanjay Kalra is an Entrepreneur-at-Large; always in pursuit of the next discontinuity.
His recent pursuits have been in areas of rural distribution chains in India, design for the other 90%, meaningful life-skills for young adults and meditation.
Sanjay was the Chairman of Shiv Nadar & Sanjay Kalra Associates, CEO of Tech Mahindra, served on the Board of Directors of Mahindra Satyam and was a member of the Global Executive Board of Mahindra and Mahindra. Prior to joining Tech Mahindra, Sanjay was the CEO of DSL Software (a joint venture between HCL and Deutsche Bank). He has also served as President of HCL Technologies Europe. He lived and worked with Schlumberger and Tata Unisys across South East Asia and Europe.
Sanjay has nurtured start-ups and led high growth businesses. He is an IIT Delhi Alumnus and the recipient of the Alumni award for National Development in 2007. At IIT his passion was acting, film production and student politics.
Sanjay is a regular at Community Drumjams and can at times be seen drumming away with friends and family.
VASANTH RAO
Vasanth Rao is General Manager – Finance (Taxation & Resources) and Chief Public Relations Officer at the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited. His long and distinguished career involves tenures at various government agencies which include the position of Deputy Commissioner (Resources) at the Bangalore City Corporation (1999-2000 and the again from 2006-2009) and as Special Officer at the Fiscal Policy Analysis Cell, Finance Department (2005-2007). He holds a Masters in English Literature and a post graduate diploma in Personnel Management.
When the BMRCL created the Rangoli Metro Art Centre, Vasanth was instrumental in ensuring that public art thrived at RMAC. He has been a great supporter of Community Drumjam from the very beginning, and, along with the staff at RMAC, he has been there personally to ensure that everyone who attends the sessions at RMAC has the best experience possible, every single time.
